This is Staincross.

 

Staincross is located on a hill overlooking Darton.
It's easy to imagine an ancient Iron-age timber fortress, probably located somewhere near this Farm.

The house occupied by Robert Robucke and his family in the 17th century no longer exists, but would have been somewhere close to Staincross Common.
